Wom@rts aims to highlight the contribution of women to the European cultural heritage and diversity, and to tackle gender inequality by supporting their presence in the of Market from a cross-sectoral perspective, promoting a wide range of mobility actions, knowledge, tools, training activities and events.
It is an ambitious (and necessary...) project that will involve the creation of sixteen ambassadors, all recognised European artists in the visual, performing and literary arts, the provision of masterclasses by women artists and managers, and the creation of an online platform for female artists to show work, and their participation to international festivals worldwide.
The final part of this project involves forty residencies for female artists that will result in a travelling transmedia exhibition inspired by Simone de Beauvoir’s feminist classic, The Second Sex.
